It’s not the first time it’s been said but someone said it to me once; if you have a candle, you don’t hide it under a bushel. That’s what i was going to do with this, hide it under a bushel – but now i see, after writing it, it’s a shame for peoples’ stories not to be heard and their light not to be seen. Good people, like candles, deserve to be shown to others.
I dedicate this to a friend, Edward Brophy, with whom i went to college. It’s also dedicated to all the others who were with us on that day, and with whom i shared that house , especially Vinny, Ciaran and the Boys.
